Write Up:
A wonderful group of 7 hikers in addition to me met at the trailhead as planned. The smoke was noticeable, but not significant. There were a few muddy sections during the first couple of km's that were easy to navigate and no issues not wearing gaiters. Once out of the trees, the views of the Elk Range were stunning. As we gained elevation, the smoke seemed to dissipate. We reached the summit of Mount Lipsett at about the 2.5 hour mark and enjoyed lunch on the ridge among the jagged rocks, a bit lower down to shelter from the wind. The views remained stunning. Our descent was steady and we were all glad of our earlyish start given the climbing temperature, and appreciated the protection of the trees. This was a super easy hike to lead - the group looked out for one another, stayed together and I was so happy to catch up with some hiking buddies I hadn't seen in ages. A few of us had a cold beer at Fahr in Turner Valley on the way home.
