Write Up:Like many hikes in the Rocky Mountains, this trip did not go as
planned. With forecast temperatures of 19 degrees and 20% POP, some
came dressed in shorts and tank tops. Unfortunately, it started
raining in the parking lot. Nevertheless, being the hardy hikers that
we are, we suited up and headed up with exclamations of, "it looks
like it's lightening up", "it's not that bad, it could be worse, it
could be snow"...By the time we got to the third "leveling off" after
the "scrambley" bit, there was a consensus to turn back. Sad to say,
the rain stopped and the sky cleared...on the drive back home. Though
the hike was a disappointment, being with our CWH friends was not. As
always, that part was great!! Next time...on Opal Ridge!!!
