Write Up:We went Whitetail onto Braggin Rights and then Merlin View, which was quite a change from the
usually bustling trail. We only met one couple biking with their two dogs and then a hiker with
his two dogs. Braggin Rights was getting busier with bikers and hikers on our return in the
afternoon. We went clockwise on Merlin View trail and found the trail sections that get sunlight
most of the day were mainly dry. The trails without much sunlight were still snowy, icy and
muddy. We went to Kestrel Viewpoint for lunch. There was still deep snow on this part of the
trail but doable. This is a great spot for lunch with good views, especially of Moose Mountain
and the fire lookout as well as Cox Hill. It was a six-hour day and we calculated 16 km and 450
m elevation. Thanks to Glynn, Susan, Deb and Lynn for an outstanding day in the hills.
