Write Up:
We began our hike at the Heart Creek Parking lot because we were unsure how the construction just north of Heart Mountain would affect the unofficial ditch parking. The rain, which morphed into snow began as we were still on the climb up the face. Once past the summit, the sun came out...for awhile. Most of the trail was snow free with the occasional snow patch and one section of about 50 meters that was no big deal. The weather was unstable throughout the day, but it was an exhilarating and satisfying hike with a great group of women. The drive home was pretty thrilling as well with the dramatic hailstorm. Many cars were parked along the TransCanada waiting out the storm. All in all, a memorable hike on Heart.
