Write Up:We picked the best day ever. The sky was blue, the mountains glorious as
they move into fall---brown grasses swaying, the fireweed turning red
and going to seed, the crisp, cool air in the morning. We spent an hour
at the top reveling in the warmth of the sun and companionship of our
fellow hikers. For those who enjoy the stats, it was 4.9 along the road
to the trail leading up the mountain (1.3 hrs. and 438 m) and 7 to the
first cairn (2.8 hrs. 1007 m). We contemplated (several times) going up
the ridge to the south, but that is as far as it went. Great day! Good
company!
